This wine had a good nose of cherries and plum. As far as taste, this had more of a red as opposed to a black fruit component, more sour-ish, but not in a bad way. It had more acid and tannins all around too. My amateurish palette is wondering if this is what makes the difference between new and old world wines, with this wine being more old-worldish. What surprises me is that the alcohol component is not discernable (not strong on the warm sensation down the throat), but this gave me a little tipsy feeling after 1 glass that many bordeauxs do not give me. Nice and smooth with good all around bod. The absence of the strong alcohol component signifying that this 2002 is nice for drinking now.
